Sufficient lighting of the workplace is important for fatigue-free work and maintaining the health of the eyes. Excessive lighting of the workplace not only strains the eyes, but also the environment in an unnecessary way.
In addressing the topic, areas of physics, mathematics and computer science are emphasized. The focus is on the examination of elementary correlations of the light propagation of a lamp/LED. The necessity of informational knowledge combined with physical correlations is demonstrated in order to use light energy in an environmentally friendly and health-promoting manner. Basic knowledge of mathematics is used. Practical references to the correct selection of lighting equipment based on manufacturer specifications such as lumens and beam angle and power are linked to health aspects.
