Dr. Helmut Heugl hat als Mathematiklehrer langjährige Erfahrung im Unterrichten mit Technologie. Über viele Jahre war er Lehrbeauftragter für Didaktik der Mathematik an der TU Wien. Als wissenschaftlicher Berater hat er wesentlich zur Entwicklung der Bildungsstandards für AHS und BHS beigetragen.

Er war Leiter von fünf österreichweiten Projekten, in denen der Einfluss von Technologie auf das Lehren und Lernen untersucht wurde, und er ist Organisator der internationalen TIME-Konferenzen (Technology in Mathematics Education).
