Often students need to use their TI-Nspire handhelds simply as a calculating tool. This 18-page guide shows them how to use the Settings menus to ensure that the results of calculations are displayed in an appropriate way.

All the following are included:

  • Calculations with the factory default settings as opposed to "normal" calculation mode (i.e only decimal approximations)
  • Fixed Decimal Place Mode
  • Engineering Mode
  • Calculating Reciprocals
  • Decimal/Binary conversions

Pages 13-18 deal with preparing the handheld for use in exams and the use of  "Press to Test" mode.

The guide does not attempt to teach or explain the underlying mathematical concepts.
